Kaua`i Academics fosters a multi-age, collaborative environment where students learn from one another. Students are encouraged to become mentors, recognizing that leadership and ability are not tied to age or grade.
While math and foreign language are taught by proficiency level, all students participate in differentiated language arts, science, and history assignments. This approach helps students build communication skills, empathy, and a deeper appreciation for collaboration across levels and perspectives.
Kaua`i Academics provides in-person personalized educational services and learning support for students of Kaua`i. Through a partnership with Christa McAuliffe Academy School of Arts and Sciences (CMASAS), Kaua`i Academics offers individualized instruction for high school students seeking a more flexible, supportive, and academically rigorous learning environment.
Families choose Kaua`i Academics for a variety of reasons: geographic proximity, flexibility for travel, a smaller setting for students with learning differences, and the ability to accommodate pre-professional or junior athletes.
The partnership is led by Ms. Tanya Wadhwani, a veteran educator with more than 20 years of experience. Ms. Wadhwani provides direct instruction in English, Spanish, math, history, and science, while also incorporating elements into the learning center that go beyond a traditional classroom setting.
Beyond the core curriculum, students engage in meaningful conversations about current events, politics, and social issues. They are encouraged to ask questions, explore ideas, and expand their worldviews—whether through a spirited geography game or cheering on a classmate in a live-streamed surf competition.
At its heart, Kaua`i Academics is a family—a place where students feel supported, inspired, and connected.
